The most common issue with 1-day systems is what they leave out. To shave time, many skip the application of a slow-curing, moisture-mitigating epoxy primer direct to concrete. (They apply a quick-cure polyurea or polyaspartic instead).

In Ohio’s climate, where moisture in the concrete slab can fluctuate year-round, this shortcut leads to delamination. Without a solid foundation, the entire coating begins separating from the floor surface.

Why Fast Installs Can’t Handle Daily Wear

Garage floor paint applied in a 1-day process simply doesn’t build enough durability. To start, the coatings are less than 100%-solids.
